When God blesses you shut up and Thank Him. God will literally help you and or gift you something but you’re so used to being in survival mode that you repel the help with your survival mode beliefs. God never said He will come and hold your hand in the hardest moments of your life. He never said He was a genie in the bottle. What’s beautiful about Him is that when you ask Him for something he will eventually deliver it to you but not the way you want it to be delivered but the way you need it delivered.
One of my favourite parable stories is “Drowning Man”. A man was in the sea and wanted God to come save him. So a first boat came by and the man said no thanks God will come save me. A second boat came by and he declined the help. Finally a third boat came by and he declined the help once more saying that God will come save him. (To be fair idk if its like 2 boats and a helicopter or idk fr but i remember it being minimum 2 boats in that story). By the end of the story the man says “God I was trapped in the ocean and you did not save me” then God responds with “ I have sent you 3 boats and you declined the help 3 times’ ‘.
This story shows how people think God will physically come and help them which is dumb. As someone who grew up in the church, church members always made it seem like someone was gonna save them whether it be Jesus, their pastors or another man. God sends people our way all the time for different confirmations, etc. We don’t recognize it because we don’t know Him. That story will always stick with me since it teaches you that you can not expect God to do all the saving. He wants you to help yourself and He wants you to meet Him halfway. As believers, God extends his Grace to us a lot but we do not meet him halfway. We don’t read the bible, we don’t do nice deeds, we are only focused on our situations so we don’t have the time to recognize our blessings.
This year feels good. I just want to be able to recognize every time God blesses me. I feel like as Christians we don’t really appreciate the little blessings God does for us. I want to be able to recognize when something is from God much sooner than later. Of course it will take time but eventually I will be able to recognize all of His blessings.
I’m hoping for a new approach with this blog. I am hoping to start voice recording my blog entries. I feel like I’m a better speaker than writer and honestly I’m excited. We will see how it goes. Only hoping for the best.
